Kittyhawk Aerodrome is an absolute gem! From open SR-SS operations to the friendly and accommodating team, every aspect of this airfield is designed with pilots in mind. The website brief is incredibly comprehensive, making flight planning seamless, and the quick and easy PPR process ensures stress-free arrivals. We planned our trip in our 172 for 2 June 2025, my two sons, our Labrador and I to meet my family who live in Eastbourne. With a choice of runways, pilots have flexibility in different conditions. The solar farm makes it very easy to spot from the air. There’s plenty of visitor parking, and if arriving by road, ample onsite parking, making accessibility a breeze. Kittyhawk is in uncontrolled airspace and the circuit patterns are well planned so as not to interfere with nearby Deanland Airfield or Ringmer Gliding Site. We had a warm welcome from Ollie and his team, whose accommodating nature make Kittyhawk Aerodrome an even more enjoyable place to visit. His enthusiasm for the current improvements and future development plans is inspiring, and it’s clear he has a great vision for the aerodrome’s growth and its future development that will further enhance this fantastic flying hub. The aerodrome’s idyllic location offers breathtaking views of the South Downs, adding to the overall experience, by road its picturesque country lanes. Used Kittyhawk Aerodrome for a helicopter landing for my boss and family who were going to Glyndebourne. All went very smoothly with great pre-event communication and helpful arrangements for executive ground transfers. Would definitely use again.
Excellent airfield just north of Eastbourne which is well worth a visit if you are flying in the area...and also very handy for Glyndebourne. Lovely long smooth grass runway easily accommodated our PA28 and the friendly welcome from Ollie was really appreciated. A little gem!
I recently had to transport some passengers via helicopter to Kittyhawk aerodrome to attend a concert at Glyndebourne. The staff were very helpful, arranging a seamless transfer from Helicopter, to an Executive Limousine that they helped arrange. The passengers were at Glyndebourne within 15 minutes of touching down at the airfield.
I would like to thank the team Kittyhawk Aerodrome. They organised our transfers from heliport to Glyndebourne and back in a very short time. We were provided with an excellent chauffeur and the vehicle. Communication and service at the point of booking and on the day of transfers were seamless.
